Rockwell Collins, a leader in developing open systems architecture avionics solutions, announced today that it has certified another product under the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE™) conformance program. The Avoidance Re-router (ARR-2500) software product has been deemed conformant to FACE Technical Standard Edition 2.1, the latest edition of the standard. In June of 2016, Rockwell Collins’ Mission Flight Management Software (MFMS-1000) was the first product in the industry to achieve FACE certification.
Rockwell Collins and NASA demonstrate Sonic Boom Display -

Rockwell Collins recently teamed with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to demonstrate its Sonic Boom Display at the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. The usability demonstration and pilot working group meeting marked a major milestone in the two year project. The Sonic Boom Display project is expected to be completed this March. The resulting sonic boom impact visualization will help pilots modify flight plans to reduce sonic boom impacts or mitigate it all together.

Just over a year after Rockwell Collins’ Remote Vision System (RVS) aided in the Boeing KC-46A tanker’s successful first refueling test flight, the U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing its third low-rate initial production aircraft lot. The order includes 15 KC-46A aircraft as part of an overall plan to replace the Air Force’s tanker fleet. First deliveries of the KC-46A will begin later this year.
